Anybody load wadcutters in their .41 Special? I'm particularly interested in using Mihas 411395 hollow base boolit. I've never loaded with hollow base bullets before. I'm guessing the main reason for the hollow base is to reduce the amount of displacement of a 225gn bullet (this example) being contained completely in the case. Is there some sort of formula for determining a load for a HBWC from a standard bullet? Useful advice or pointing out valuable text is appreciated.

At one time, I shot thousands of hbwc’s in .38spl. These were for target shooting and were very accurate at 25yds. The ones I shot were speer and hornady. These are swaged of very soft lead. I think the concept is that a soft hbwc, driven at modest velocities, will obturate and fill the bore very effectively. It also cuts a perfect circle in the target for easy scoring.
I have not cast my own, but with a soft alloy, the results should be similar. If you wanted to push them a little harder, you could just change the pin, and pour them solid. They are pretty good out to about 50yds, but they are not 100yd bullets.
