Pulled from the 41 mag thread to ask a couple of specific questions: First, the TLA cylinder has the shortest gas ring by far. What offset between the front of the gas ring and the barrel cylinder gap is necessary to keep from fouling the base pin? The TLA and Clements cylinders are longer than the nose to crimp for the 265 grain bullet. To take advantage of the OAL either a 300 grain bullet would be used or the chambers could be lengthened to either 1.4 inches long. Would that pose any safety concerns, and which gunsmith might be willing to do this work? I pulled a few 41 cylinders for measurements: Left to Right- OAL; Ratchet to cylinder face, OD 414 SuperMag- rebored 357 max cylinder 2.233; 2.099; 1.73 TLA 41 mag- 2.00; 1.87; 1.769 Clements 41 mag with oversized cylinder/opened frame window- 1.98; 1.90, 1.78 Seville 41 mag- 1.946; 1.844; 1.722 Ruger Bisley Hunter 41 mag- 1.979; 1.825; 1.731

Wow, what beautiful revolvers. I love the look of that stainless oversized cylinder! Lots of meat on those cylinder walls!

Both Harton and Huntington have done 1.4" .41's in the past.
