I am looking at buying a Browning Model 53 .32-20 WCF. What can you enlightened individuals tell me about the rifle and round? I have absolutely no NEED to get the rifle other than it looks neet as hell. Maybe I can take a Turkey, Coyote or Bobcat with it. I have just started to play with my first .32 in a Single Seven .327 Federal so I am late to the party of small bore center fire lever actions. The plan would be cast bullets most likely

The 53 would certainly be a classy machine but,,,. If you already are tooled up and packing a single six 327 I wonder if a Henry 327 lever would fill the bill better . Get you into the combo thing. And you would probably cry less when the first inevitable scratch appears.

I just don’t like the looks of the Henry for some reason or the .32 style loading. I wonder if I could get a cylinder for the Ruger and have it rechambered to .32-20 if there is enough room? Also I guess the Browning will have to be D&T since it begs for a peep sight?

I think you can get a tang sight for the Browning and not have to tap it....

Marbles does make a windage adjustable tang sight for the 53/65. It requires a simple drill and tap for the front screw. There is a screw set you'll need to order as well with a slightly longer tang screw for the back hole and a 10-32 for the front. I put one on my Browning 65. My Browning 53 has a Lyman 66 on it. It came with that sight. Both the 53 and 65 are beautiful guns. The 53.
The Marbles on the 65.

That's a looker. Congrats. Brownells sells the Marbles tang sight and screw set. They are separate from each other. They also have slot blanks for the front sight dovetail should you decide to remove it. Mine is a tack driver. Enjoy.

You will love the 32-20. I've spent much of my life promoting the small cartridges. So many years the COMPENSATED gun writers have pushed Magnumitis on us.
Much can be accomplished with the small bores and well placed bullets.
Congratulations on buying a gun that will put a lot of fun back into woods walking and plinking.

Well I won the auction so I will soon be the proud owner of a Browning Model 53! Congratulations! Enjoy your beautiful levergun. I purchased one last November unfired and new in box. It is my first .32 caliber long gun and my first .32-20. These things exude quality and fine craftsmanship.

6 I believe. I have Bobby looking to see about getting a full length tube in case I want to play cowboy action shooting again. I like the looks of the button magazine though. He will be getting it for case coloring soon

Might verify it will chamber the bullet you want to shoot.
