Thanks. Hoover-sans data and thread was appreciated by many here. The last couple of batches here I went with Power Pistol using the Lehighs and 325gr Speer SP. Seems a bit better than the Longshot for these. I tried IMR4227 with the bullets you have when I first got the 6.5" and maybe should revisit that and try some more.

I got the first set of test ammo loaded for the new 45-70. I went with what I had on hand, 300gr Midway bullet (bulk bullets donated by a friend) and some IMR 3031. I thought I had some IMR 4198 but I guess I burned it up shooting something.

Lefty, if you’re pushing those 300’s fast and they were designed for “original” 4570 velocities, they do not penetrate very well. I stoped using the bulk 300’s after having two only go 6” into a large pig, beautiful mushrooms but not happy with penetration. I was lucky I was able to place the second one low in the chest and got to the heart.

Im after accuracy with Skinner aperture sights and dont plan to scope it. Id kinda like to see 350gr bullet at around 1700-1800.

32 WCF, 4.2 grs. HP 38 under a Badman pc 100 gr. RNFP. How do you like those Badman coated bullets? I'm getting decent results with the 44 cal 200 gr RNFP.

Got sent home from work earlier yesterday because of an issue with the building, so reloaded a little while working from home at the same time.
Started up some loads for David's 44 m29 loads, made up 10x 23g of 296 CCI350 and Sierra 240gr JHC, then 5x of 23.3, 23.6 and 23.9 to see if I can see a difference and which one the gun will like more (I doubt I'll be able to tell any difference.)
Also loaded up some 500JRH while I had the 296 out working up to Max's load that he shared with me, 5x each .5gr increment under a 440gr cast GC and CCI350 primer.

It's been a reloading frenzy lately. Wasn't able to do much last year because of work and other responsibilities but so far this year I've been busy...I've already loaded 22-250, 300 GNR, 10mm, 500 JRH, 338-06, 318 WR, and 475L. This afternoon I'm going to start loading for a .300 Rook. It's been difficult to shoot...either it's too cold or there's too much snow to get into the range. Should probably just go hunting...

Well I TRIED to sneak in some loading.. Got everything just about set up and ready to run, got the powder thrower ready for 8gr of Unique so I can set up from 41 Mag's with a 215gr LSWCHP, loaded 10 loads and had to stop and clean up for the day due to other issues..
Will try again some other day I suppose.
