Linda's early Christmas Present

Most years we pick our presents, put them on layaway and pay them off when we can afford to. This year that meant that Christmas came early. Linda had put a Microsoft surface on Layaway at Ben's Loans, but when she got it out it would not do what she needed it to. The people at Ben's were great, and accepted the return for store credit. Ben's is also one of our favorite gun stores... what to do... what to do...

As it turns out they had a ridiculously good deal on a Sig P238 Legion, new in box, 2 extra magazines... Linda dove upon it with glad cries. The first range trip she fell in love. Put more than a hundred rounds through it- which is a lot for her- and then started bugging me to reload some more .380 so we could go back. It's a fantastic little gun, good grip, great sights, mild recoil... it's addictive.  Today she got another Christmas present- custom Desert Ironwood grips!  She's a very happy girl.

Congratulations! I can see her liking that gun. When I married my wife I gave her a five screw K22 to shoot for fun, but was also going to give her a centerfire she could choose from my other guns. All 44's. To my surprise she didn't like the way any of them fit her hand. I took her to the nearest gun shop to try to find a good fit for her. After trying a few different guns, they gave her a Colt .380 government model to try and she immediately said that was it. She has carried and qualified with it as her concealed handgun ever since. I offered to put some stag grips on, it but she declined. I did get her two more magazines as spares, but that is all. She is good with it. Who knew? The Sig looks amazingly like the original Colt .380 government model. I would gamble to say a lot of these compact guns end up being used by women. Bad guys would be wise not to pick them for their next victim. MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!
