Finding myself in need of a good bolt action 22. Have my old single shot but want a modern bolt action. Looking at the Ruger American series. Specifically the target model. Anyone have any experience with these firearms?

Not the target model, but the standard American 22 LR. I regret selling it. I never found anything wrong with the one we had. I was very pleased to find that it fed 22 LONG CCI low velocity ammo 100%. The 29 gr boolit Chronographed around 750 fps. As quiet as a pellet rifle. Or nearly so. Awesome for back yard plinking. I got mine from a friend I helped move. It didn't have the short lop butt stock with it. I would like to get another but with the short lop for my wife. I'm not saying they are better than other 22 rifles. But, it was a very good rifle. It also fed every type of 22 LR ammo I fed it! I never tried it with a scope so I can't say how inherently accurate it was. With the iron sights, it was more accurate that I was.

I have a standard contour 22wmr, it is 1.25” accurate at 100 with WW 40gr JHP.

I am thinking of a 22 lr RAR myself. I had a CZ 455 Varmint but was a bit heavy to carry around as a woods gun. Sold it, now I miss it.

I bought one of the “Copper Mica” stock versions from CDNN, no complaints. The “Copper” color is kind of a medium brown, I like it.

I've got the Ruger American Predator in .22lr and .17HMR. The .22LR is very accurate and I am more than pleased with it. I belong to a club with an underground 100 yard rifle range and I've fired 5 shot groups about the size of a quarter at 100 yards with a couple different brands of .22LR target ammo. I was shocked the first couple times I shot groups that small.
