This has been the best year ever for us, too. Of three hunting pards, three bucks -- 8, 9, and 10 points -- and 4 does. No pics YET, but my 10 was the smallest rack, the 8 the most symmetrical, and the 9 the largest. I've never seen such thick layers of fat or such a thick layer of meat between the fat and the breast bone. Healthy, healthy deer this year. We hunt northwest OK.

Seems like there are more deer every year. My partner and I have 320 in western ok. NW of cheyenne.

Your only 30 miles or so north of us as a crow flys. By road its about 50. I had to come in to fly to DC for T-giving with the wifes family. I talked to my partner and he said the bucks were going crazy Wednesday.

Those look like heavy bodied deer Gary. Any idea what they weighed? That are three good lookin bucks.

According to the scales at the Reydon check station they all weighed between 125 and 130 field dressed. I am pretty sure their scales are off. The bucks we killed last year dressed at 140 to 160. I am pretty sure the big one was at least 150 field dressed. The middle deer was rutted down pretty bad and the scales had him the heaviest.   |
