Well I have a 500JRH coming back to me from MRI soon
Designed a pb 465gr LFN from mountainmolds, that should be in today.
Was going to try the Lee 440gr but I just can’t seem to find any gas checks, thought they wouldn’t be that hard to find. Is my googlefu just weak? No luck on MidwayUSA, Brownells, precision reloading. Maybe I should just get the RCBS 375gr pb instead.

that was the 1st link that came up for me...
curious if in general anyone has used aluminum gas checks... ( I see they have aluminum 50 cal gas checks at Sages ) my retired machinist buddy has made them out of pop cans before, but I think those have a coating of some sort, to keep the acid in the soda from eating the can... my concern with aluminum, would be if it corroded at all, the corrosion is quite abrasive ( aluminum oxide... thinking sand paper here ) thoughts???

Sage is the only place I get gas checks. Good company to deal with. Hard to beat prices and fast shipping. I use both copper and aluminum. Cant tell any difference between the two. I haven't had any corrosion issues with any yet. Keep them sealed in the bag they come in and I see it being a non issues as far as storage. I have no idea what being loaded does to them but Im not going to loose any sleep over it. I did a google search and I believe there is a bit more to sandpaper than corrosion scraped off a piece of aluminum.

I've bought them from Noe Molds before. I've never used aluminum checks before but am going to try them on a 257 Jackrabbit soon.
