I think they had largely ceased production of the good stuff before this atrocity came out. So they were well on their way to oblivion before the Zip. Regardless, sad that a company that produced the fantastic revolvers they did has disappeared.

Apply what’s been learned about shaping and stippling polymer frames and see if it can be made more ergonomic. Someone buy me a mill and teach me how to use it and we can try making aluminum bolts as well!

Something I thought I read on the internet, (it has to be true if it's on the internet ) was the the Zip was built to save the company. USFA was not turning a profit on their single actions, so the Zip was to be a profitable gun to save the company. Don't know if any of that is true, but it made sense at the time. It's a shame the company didn't survive.

...my only question is, since the company was well respected, sold all the guns they could make...why didn't the owner just put it up for sale if he wanted out?
I as at the factory three times to have a gun worked on and get some letters for one of them. They took me right into the factory where the gun was worked on and I watched the whole thing...really nice laid back people.
Sad....

There's one at my LGS right now for $150. Not gonna buy it but the timing was funny.
