I want to thank all Ya'll, (yep another Texan), have found this forum, fits my thinking to a "T".
Have been a hunter-reloader-caster for 30 years, and have always had a soft spot for single actions, especially Rugers.
When I found one of the 45 Colt 5.5" stainless Rugers years ago, I bought it on the spot. Have been thrilled with it ever since. Have had the cylinder honed, installed a Belt Mountain pin, made some ebony grips, and put a spring kit in it, is now just about perfect.
Have enjoyed shooting it with home cast WW bullets, H110 loads.
Now to the inspiration part....
Thanks to sixshot and many others, I will hang up the long guns, and commit to hunting both deer and hogs with the Ruger. Am practicing to get my skills to the point that 75 to 100 yard shots are sure, before season.
Last thing, I do have a question to the gang, ejector rod screw keeps backing out, have tried loctite, doesn't help. Any suggestions?
If personal finances allow, would love to find a 44 Bisley, and send it off to either Harton or Linebaugh to build a custom 5 shot with all the bells and whistles. Would have a smile for years, I just know.
Sorry to ramble, this has been building for a while.
Joe

I would suggest having somebody look it over, you may have slightly stripped the hole for the screw. But shouldn't this be in Single Actions?

Hey welcome. Hunted for years with a Linebaugh 6 shot stainless 45. Only went to the real big boys because they where there. Hunting with a handgun is a real joy and gives you a lot of satisfaction that I dont get with most other hunting.

joeb4065 did you clean and degrease before you used the loctite? They also make a loctite primer that does a hell of a job, it speeds drying time and helps with the holding power.

Texasfivegun,
Probably didn't clean well enough, will take another stab at it, hope it takes this time.
