I had the chance to take a few of my Rugers out to the range. A couple of these I've shown before, my Bisley 41 and my Horvath mid Frame 41. Also along for the day is a Single Six I picked up at Cabelas for $250. I mean, how could I go wrong for $250? Nothing really spectacular about the trip, just working up loads and sight in work. Up until recently the Bisley had worn a 2x scope in a Weaver No drill mount. I decided to switch to a Vortex red dot on the Bisley and mounted the scope on the Single Six. What I discovered about the Single Six is it could really use a trigger job but should prove to be a good performer when small game season rolls around. The other thing I learned is I really like the red dot. These were the last six shots (at 25 yds) using my sight in ammo consisting of a 250gr wfn at 1200fps. All six shots touching. It will be interesting to see how this pans out at longer ranges.

Looks good! What mount did you use for the dot sight?

I thought so. I have a couple of Raptor Engineering mounts too. Great product.

I use that mount with a Fast Fire 3 on my old model 357. It is a nice combo. Definitely not traditional. But nice.

I like it!
I tried a FF on my GP100 but couldn’t get my eyes, hands and shooting level that day to play well with each other. Now that I know the club range has a laser boresighter I can use, I’m going to revisit this idea again.
