I've photographed that gun. The owner has been trying to sell it for at least 8 years. When asked, I gave him my opinion on what it was worth back around 2010. He kept coming back to the appraisal he had done. I never saw the appraisal - I think he told me it was done by a gun shop owner in AZ? I'd have to go back and look at my notes.
Grover built that gun after TLA closed and it is marked Grover Arms, rather than Texas Longhorn Arms. He had years before promised Bart Skelton he wouldn't build any more Skeeter guns, but didn't tell him that SS7 hadn't been built at the time of that conversation. It is a neat gun, but not worth anywhere close to the opening bid, in my opinion.

For $25k (reserve not met!) you'd think they could throw in the shipping... Just saying.

Loading gate's on the right in that pic Yep. It is a custom Ruger, like all the SS series guns.

Ridiculous. Of course you can put any price you want on something you own.

I want to thank you for posting this! I had never heard of TLA firearms before this. With google being my friend, I started wirh texas longhorn arms. Interesting story, and being a leftie, I realized one of the reasons that I am drawn to single actions more than other firearms. While researching TLA I was sidetracked by the shootist holiday. This all made for a very enjoyable evening, researching and learning more and more about my favorite subject. A welcome distraction from the pressures of life in general.

I sent him a message telling him that I thought the ad was a bit misleading since it was not an actual TLA revolver. He said he was a personal friend of Bill Grover and that's how he got the gun. I'm not 100% certain that he knew there was a difference between a TLA revolver and Grover's SS rugers. I told him I wasn't trying to offend him, just let him know. He seemed fine with that.
