Hi all,
Completely new shooter here. Just got my first firearm a few weeks ago and having a blast: Heritage 22LR/22MG Rough Rider 6.5 in.
Gun is good enough and lots of fun. However, when I use the 22 Mag cylinder the used shells often get stuck in the cylinder. It takes lots of force with the ejector rod to get them to come out. Unfortunately, the "thumb" on the ejector rod is made of cheap plastic, so I don't see it lasting too much longer. Does anyone know of a compatible ejector rod made of metal that I could swap in?
Best,
-Adam

AdamARMWelcome to the site! Not sure about compatible parts but it looks like Numrich has new replacement parts fairly cheap: www.gunpartscorp.com/products/1571400IGlad you're liking the rough rider! Always nice to see a new shooter! You may want to eventually look into something like a single six or bearcat for a single action .22. Haven't handled a Heritage in years but bought one of the early ones when I was teaching my sister to shoot. They were pretty rough quality wise. That can make things frustrating especially when you're just learning. Then again that's when they were barely over a hundred bucks new in box. Hopefully they've improved a bit over the years. On the sticky extraction you may want to try a few different brands of ammunition. For instance my K22 gets sticky with certain Aguila ammo but loves CCI and Federal. You may need to experiment. Stick around and ask questions if you need help. There's folks I'm learning from reading here and I've been shooting since I was 5...

Welcome! Before you know it you will be casting and reloading, and buying custom revolvers that could finance a harley. Oh well, everybody needs a hobby.

Hi all,
Thanks for the welcome. I can feel the addiction brewing. Just into this hobby about a month, and I am already pricing out my next purchases. Wow, this hobby gets expensive fast. But an afternoon at the range is still cheaper than going to the movies.

If you start reloading and casting, you won’t save any money, but you will shoot a whole lot more.
