Just starting to look into this for an AR build. Which twist rates match up with which bullet weights?
Thanks!

You will like. I have only one AR upper (Shilen) to go on but factory Hornady 32 and 40 grain never don't make me smile. It's kinda like shooting 168 GMM in a 308, leery to try and beat it by hand.

After having been bit by the small bore rifle bug, I would suggest a 1-11 twist for the 20's. I got lucky with both of my 1-12 twist shooting the 40 grain Vmax very well. I had anticipated issues and bought up a fair supply of 39 grain sierras. Still have not loaded one of those.
AR platform, if it were me I would go with the 20 practical. No muss no fuss and less issue on losing brass. It gives up very little to the 204 Ruger.
My next 20 will be the practical. Same goes for the 17 Remington, I will go with 17-223 or the 17 Predator. Jeff

Thanks! I’ve found a 22”, 1/11 barrel at a reasonable price so I’m starting my research. I was actually leaning toward a SPR-ish 18” 5.56 but I suppose a 22” .204 could fill a similar slot in the line up.
Either way 200 yds is the max at our range so it’s really more about how bad I want to add another caliber.

I goofed, the barrel I saw is a 1/10 twist not 11. Even taking into account every rifle is a law unto itself, does that potentially make any significant difference?
