Is there a book or two that folks would consider the most useful consummate sources for info on S&W revolvers?
If anybody has some the want to get rid of.....

Standard Catalog of Smith and Wesson by Supica and Nahas (IIRC) is my go to.

After you order that book, you will realize the error of your ways in obtaining a blasphemy riddled, converted caliber model 16. At this point you may as well just ship the revolver to me to lessen your shame.
