I have a pre-1994 manufacture Buckmark that I have had for many years and sent many rounds down the tube. A couple weeks ago I was out at the ranch with my nephew shooting and the Buckmark starting having some issues with extraction and feeding. Figured it was time for a good cleaning.
When I got home and took the gun down for cleaning I found the buffer at the rear of the slide was literally in pieces. Thought maybe this is the cause of the odd behavior. So I go online and found the Browning service order form. Checked the parts diagram and ordered a couple new buffers. Figured I get a new recoil spring as well since it has never been replace.
So I sent off my form and headed to Montana for the Northwest Outdoor Writers Association annual gathering. While I was at the meeting I receive a call from Browning. Seems my little gun is so old they don't even make service parts anymore. But, they have an upgrade. I'm thinking my buffer just turned into an expensive top side rebuild.
No so. The service rep said that since the gun is older and I'm still using it regularly and that I had no idea I couldn't get parts, he'd hook me. Said he would ship everything I needed to upgrade the slide, recoil spring and guide rod, extractor and buffer...ALL AT NO CHARGE!!!
Yesterday the brown truck showed up with a little package full of brand new Browning parts! I'll get everything put together tonight and hopefully hit the range in the next couple of days.
It's sure nice to own quality gear that quality companies stand behind and go out of their way to service and keep customers shooting.
Well done Browning!

It took me several weeks to find the parts to fix mine from outside vendors when the extractor extracted itself from my gun never to be found again. It is still a very accurate gun to shoot and my go to for accurate 22lr pistol shooting.
