So....I recently bought an OM flatop that had been converted to .44 Special by David Clements. But.....apparently I didn't read the listing closely enough because when I went to put my trusty Clements bisley hammer (none finer by the way) and Bowen OM flat top sight on it I had a surprise.... I bet somebody can figure out what it might have been. Really nice old build by David of CCG.........enjoy...

I know but to say wouldn't be fair.

Someone fit a DIAS to it?

Was it originally a protected ear gun that David flat topped?

1968 gun? Does the Bowen sight stick up above the frame at all?
Classic build, and you're right about the hammer.

Yep.....in the listing it said it had been flattopped.....not that it was a flat top.
I didn't even notice until I went to put the sight on.
Luckily I had an OM Bowen target sight in my box-o-tricks.
To me it's just one more thing that the maker did to build the gun so I'm way good with it.
Tater...good question...you've been on the ball here lately....the sight is just a tad too thick and does protrude from the frame enough that there's a sharp point on the front edge.
Not enough that it bothers me.....right now anyway. I don't think I would sell it like that though.

Drop In Auto Sear. Big back in the 70s and 80s to turn a semi-auto AR into FA when it was legal for civilians to build or convert their own.

Robb beat me to it. I saw the serial, and knew it wasn't an original Flattop. Nice looking gun there!
