Thanks so much for sharing your trip with us. Some of us will never have the experience of hunting Africa.

Huey, that's one fine shooting #1 your friend got the Gemsbok with, all the credit must go to the ammo maker right? And congrats on the kill with the 25/20, you were probably dancing with the trackers on that one. That 75 gr. Vmax did a number on it.

Well, the pig hunt was a major fail. None of the three of us was successful.
There is a major drought here and we knew it would be iffy.
But, that's why we decided to wait until all our planned kills were made.
I'd already added a Gemsbok and a second Impala. So, no hurt feelings here.
Seriously considering another 25-20 kill tomorrow morning. Will sleep on it and decide.
I appreciate all the encouraging posts.

Huey, sorry about the luck on your last day. We both wanted another animal added to the 25-20 count. Have a safe trip home.

Huey, sorry about the luck on your last day. We both wanted another animal added to the 25-20 count. Have a safe trip home. It wasn't bad luck. I was thrilled when my best friend of 32 years chose to hunt today. It took me a day to talk him into it. He killed a giant Blesbok at 215 yards with his 303 British Ruger #1.

I saw the photo but did not know he was your best friend. He did very well!!! I chose the word luck because of all the variables. Wind, weather, animal cooperation, etc. Any bad day hunting is better than a good day working ? Isn't that how the saying goes? But being with your friend when he shoots a trophy like that, IS a good day.

All seven days has been a gift from God.

Got home Friday evening. Whole trip was a success and everything went great.
We hunted two hunters for each PH. My hunting partner and I took eleven animals.
In the process of printing select photos for the scrapbook.
What an awesome experience.

Welcome home! Planning the next trip yet? Those warthogs can be hit or miss anytime. I took my first of two way back in '85 in Tanzania and my second five years later in Botswana. Took my boy two trips over to get one but he got it last summer in Namibia. Africa is always an awesome experience. The worst part is getting there and back, ugh! TIA!

Not sure about another trip. The flight was long, but not awful.
Probably would go back if the conditions were right.
Enjoyed the humanitarian stuff we did. Exploring and hunting were first rate too.
