Yesterday evening, I took my three-year-old grandson "deer hunting." We went to the old trailer that's bay window looks up toward the feeder. Then another visitor arrived. Shortly after the buck drifted back into the woods, the cougar appeared at the top of the field near the far tree line. This time, I picked up the binoculars instead of the camera because I wanted to make a positive ID. I wish now, I'd grabbed the camera instead. This is the first time I've seen the lion.

Well I don' t know if that little burck knew what it was, but he sure didn't turn his back on him!
How big was the lion? Any chance to get a shot at him or grandson only trip?

Markbo, These were taken from the bay window of an old trailer that I use as the ranch office. It's about 1/4 mile from the house and right in the middle of my woods. I had the wife and the grandson with me, and I was only armed with my 50th Anniv 357. I actually considered shooting the bobcat through the window and decided against it. The buck looked like he was backing the cat down pretty well. I saw the lion for about 3 seconds walking left to right against the far tree line that you can see. I estimate that his body was nearly as long as the deer's, but that's just an estimation. I really would like to get a shot at him as I think he's responsible for my disappearing barn cats, and on at least two occasions, he got pretty close to my daughter. Btw, I haven't carried anything as small as a 357 since that day.

If that cat is getting close to your Daughter, it might be time to take it out! Thanks for sharing. Frank
