I should add most anti-virus software will protect you. Still not worth the risk though. -Lee www.singleactions.com

Lee, If it's working, is there anyway you can get a backup now?
I know Cucuy has been working to get everything copied but if you can get a backup it may be a faster, less work intensive way to salvage the posts and pictures.

Unfortunately, Phpbb3now won't provide the back-up. I still don't recommend logging in....there's no assurance that their server is clean. -Lee www.singleactions.com

I spent all of last night and today purging my system. I got live updates and ran a system scan. Found 17 threats. Then I ran live updates again and found one more update, then ran another system scan and found five more threats. A third try revealed no more threats. Turned the computer off and restarted. Changed most of my passwords today, especially the most critical ones. My computer connection seems faster now, but might just be the time of day. I hope I'm out in the clear now. Whew!

Lee,
Not sure if you saw my post on the other thread, but you can change the banner at the top of the old forum without logging in to the phpbb3now servers. The banner itself isn't stored on their servers, it's in your photobucket account -- there's a link in the php3bbnow code that points to
http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z149/AtomicPinUp/SingleActionsBanner10.jpg
You could create a new banner with a warning, and a pointer to the new board, and upload it to photobucket using that same filename.
Also, since I'm running Linux, I'm pretty well impervious to 99.9% of the malware out there. I understand you'd rather not log on over there; I'd be happy to post something on your behalf.
