Has anybody here bought one of these yet? Specifically, the .40S&W chambering? I’m really tempted to get one after handling a Performance Center Shield recently. I do remember reading about the rash of ‘kaBOOM!’s from a few years ago though, which all involved the 40 caliber model and 180 grain factory loadings. I’m curious how the new 2.0’s handle that same ammo, and if there remains an inherent risk. Thoughts?

I haven't shot one, but have handled several and they look to be well made and I like the grip surface treatment and the improved trigger.

I carry the Performance Center Shield in .40 every day. After about six different pistols over the years, it is my favorite. It has the BEST striker fired trigger I've ever used. Haven't fired it over 100 times yet, but no problems so far.

I've read quite a few comments about them over on 24 Hr Campfire & the majority loves the improvements on them.

I just processed another one for in-store pick-up this afternoon.... the 2.0 is really growing on me.

The M&P platform in general is tough. Our 9mm Shield gets shot daily. I don't think you could take it out in the parking lot and kill it with a stick.
