Was thinking about one of these in an AR might be good coyote medicine.
Then got to thinking a bolt action might be less expensive option for accuracy. Maybe even handier.
Thoughts on cartridges and guns?

I personally like the concept. Got an email from MGM who says they'll offer it in a G2 only Contender barrel. I'll likely own a 24" one.

AR15 all the way!!!
There are not currently any bolt action magazines for the 224 Valkyrie, so a bolt gun would be mute.
The 90 Grain Fusion won't bounce off a Yote.
I think its a win!!!

I like what the cartridge does and how the guns are set up. A 600 yard contender seems like a great walking around gun.

I'm not a center fire .22 fan at all, but that looks to be one smokin' .22 out of an AR. That said, I am a big 6.8SPC fan, so I kinda dig most 6.8 based wildcats.
I don't think a quality AR gives up much in accuracy to a quality bolt action, with the advantage of much quicker follow-up shots if needed. Just as an example, my 18" 6.8 AR has shot MOA at 300 yards with SSA's 90gr TNT hp load, prone in a winter wheat field, shooting off a rolled up Army blanket. I know there are some serious shooters on here, but I think most folks would be tickled pink to shoot MOA at 300 yards with a nice bolt gun.

Doesn't make much sense in a bolt gun, there are better options for that.

I’m looking at having a 22 Grendel Barrel turned for an AR build.

Can anyone give feedback on CMT Tactical? They are offering a complete AR 15 upper in .224 Valkyrie with a 24.5", 22", or 20" heavy profile stainless bbl. $1,185.00 & free shipping. I have a complete rifle, so it would be a good swap out with a bipod on the 24.5" bbl. upper. www.cmttac.com/AR15-UPPER-RECEIVER/224-valkyrie

"Built on the same proven CMT base that won the Precision Rifle Series Tac Lite Pro division season championship in 2017."
Total rifle price in line with many of the mid-higher end ARs out there and must be good quality.

I have their comp chassis with a Bighorn TL3 with a Hawk Hill and Spencer barrel for it. Still no bolt actions magazines available off the shelf in AICS pattern.
