I've been trying to find out what the hammers on the newly released Lipsey's .32 H&R bisley are made of.
Here's what Mike, our favorite RF Ruger salesman says:
"It looks like a stainless hammer, blued to match the rest of the revolver, and then the hammer sides were polished back to stainless. The finish is actually black. The same finish is on the blued 22lr Bisleys. The 44m and 45LC Bisleys have an all-stainless hammer."
Can anybody add info that has either the .22lr bisley or the new .32 H&R?
I sure wish they were blue steel but I'm afraid they're stainless, which isn't necessarily bad....just no case coloring.

I think it is either Bobby Tyler or Ryan Ross who supposedly has figured out a case color technique to work on stainless

Bobby Tyler and Ryan Ross both do beautiful CCH.
But it’s Tyler who does CCH on stainless as well.

In the couple of pics I've seen on GB they're blued.

First attempt to insert pic attachment without using Phototrainwreck.
Well, looks like that didn't work!
Anyway, Bobby Tylers CCH on stainless looks very nice in my opinion. Even better in person than in pics.
Looks like I need to start an imagur account or some other photo hosting site.

In the couple of pics I've seen on GB they're blued. Yeah, I know...I've looked too but folks are saying they're stainless and "painted". How does the case coloring on Stainless match a carbon steel reciever that's been case colored? I have a gun Bobby colored and I REALLY like the results. In fact he may do my next one....

The hammer on my blued 22 Bisley is definitely carbon steel. I tested it with a dab of cold blue on a Q-tip & it turned blue, the trigger is stainless & the cold blue had no effect whatsoever.
