I got to check these out few years back at the annual machine gun/mlitaria shoot. The guys seems really good and the guns very well built. My brother and I spent quite a while at their tables and quite a while considering one (or two) of them. The lack of a worthy range stopped the purchase though. 200yrds is our available max range distance so with that and a .50 BMG, why bother? LoL I recall a few forums that were key on these guns. Do a search for the .50 BMG shooter's club and use the links from there. I do believe that if ya gonna go to that chambering, don't skimp and go cheap. I've looked at the budget ones and well...they're price isn't the only aspect of them that's low.

Thanks for the feedback. And you're right about the range. My dad has two bolt guns in 50 BMG and they don't start to group until you hit 200 yards (definitely takes a while for the bullets to stabilize). -Lee www.singleactions.com

Lee - completely OT question, but have you considered the .416 Barrett?

Mine was built by Armalite. The thing shoots amazingly well and the groups are VERY small with just run of the mill ammo. Never handled the State Arms version. Have you considered any of the others.....

Lee - completely OT question, but have you considered the .416 Barrett? Neat round, but I really want 50 BMG. My dad has been shooting 50s for years now and is already set-up to reload (plus he has plenty of surplus bullets and lots of AA8700). -Lee www.singleactions.com

Big guns. I always wanted a 50 but have a hard time justifying $1.50 per shot.

Sixshooter, unless you get a real deal on powder you can't shoot it for 1.50 per shot. I had 200 lbs of the same lot I got for 2.00 per pound. But I shot mostlym the Hornady bullet for accuracy. Its more like 3.75-4.00 per shot, I also was able to pick up some IMI new brass @ 2.00 per round. Its expensive but worth it. Unless maybe the 408 Cheyenne can't think of any better plsay toy in the ordnance field...IMNSHO :-0

Thanks for clarifying. I'm sure at $4 though it's a lot of bang for your buck [pun intended]. I really would like to try a 50 BMG one of these days.
