When OM blackhawks are sent to the factory to have the safety conversion performed they have a "R" marked on the gun somewhere.
Where are they marked?
Thanks!

The one's I've seen were underneath the grip frame at the front of the trigger guard.

Perhaps they weren’t all “factory” conversions...

No....that's not the problem.....
I bought 2 not 1 but 2 OM .44 flat tops that somebody converted back and they are stamped....
It's causing me quite the heartburn right now....
I guess "unconverted" means just that.......

Maybe somebody just swapped grip frames just to mystify you...

Maybe somebody just swapped grip frames just to mystify you... Huh??? Has nothing to do with grip frames..... I bought the guns as the sellers said they had not been to the factory to be converted but they had.... BIG FAT "R" stamped on them....

Sorry for any confusion I may have caused, my post was vague. What I meant was the R is stamped on the cylinder frame but you cannot see it as it's covered up by the grip frame.

The stamped frame, while not visible unless the grip frame is removed, will always be an issue with purist. The original parts are returned with the gun and the owner can always put them back in but the mark in the cylinder frame remains. I'd guess that the permanent marking is driven by the liability lawyers..
