I figure what the heck, any of you guys want to jump right in. I just wanted to see how deep the waters would go. Every once in a while a guy gets surprised so who knows.

Oh it's not done yet! It will be fun to see the final price and I doubt it will be mine which is fine with me.

Unless you tune into the live auction the chance of winning with a pre auction bid is pretty slim, but worth a shot. The high pre auction bid becomes the opening bid at the live auction. Last week I was watching a Bowen nimrod that was at $1200 heading into the auction. When that lot came up it was bid up to $3750 pretty quickly, that's before the house 18% commission. If you follow the auctions you'll see a lot of the opening bids have the same name. I assume dealers are going through and placing low ball bids on dozens, if not hundreds, of guns in the hopes of winning a few.

I look at it more as a diamond in the rough, another mans name on it, not marked like the Cody guns are now, long barrel is not as popular, no grip work. That being said I’m sure it’s bank vault tight and is an excellent shooter.
On second look, it appears to have some grip shaping done.

It was one of those things where there was enough features that were "unique" compared to current guns of John's I felt I would only go so far and even though that was jsut a few buks under what it sold for, I am happy with the results.
