Reading Snyd’s comment in Tim’s first single action rig thread reminded me of my grandpa Corum. When I was a little kid my Grandpa hooked up his bushog to his old Massey Ferguson tractor and backed it up over a small hill allowing him access to the underside of the bushog. I don’t remember what needed to be done but I remember that my dad was helping him. What happened next is still a mystery to this day. The only thing I know for sure is that my dad was on the tractor and my grandpa was underneath the bushog working on it. Appantly there was a huge miscommunication and my dad threw the bushog in gear and my grandpa lost the tip of his pointer finger at the first joint. This finger also happened to be his trigger finger. Grandpa was a tough old dude and drove himself to the hospital. I don’t think he wanted my dad along for the ride just yet. Doctor stitched up and fixed up grandpa’s finger at that first joint because they couldn’t find the part of his finger that was cut off. Now, the rest, of the story: (insert Paul Harvey’s voice) Grandpa loved hunting. Rabbit, squirrel and quail. He only had two guns, a Winchester semi auto .22 and an old double barrel shotgun. If he couldn’t bring home meat with one of those he figured he didn’t need it. Since the tip of his trigger finger was no longer in play he switched to using his bird finger. It took a while but he adjusted well and as a bonus, any time he missed a shot he had my dad to blame for cutting off the finger that never missed. I use the bird finger description instead of middle finger description because I think every time grandpa missed, in his mind he was flipping the bird at my dad. Ahh, good times! Paul

“Huge miscommunication” is a major understatement I would say!

Fantastic story, Paul! I love it.
Maybe a thread on our old stories/memories would be a wonderful thing to start here??!!?? I know I have a few.
