Nobody has mentioned this, but these guns have the Turnbull emblem engraved/stamped on the bottom of the frame.
I thought a very nice touch.

I saw one today. While not as bad as Hughree's sample, It had did have terrible grips, and a few other things, I didn't like. I figured it wasn't worth the money and trouble. If I am going to get a CC one. I will buy a regular one first to get the bugs out , and then send it off for CC. I will say, Turnbull does great work, and I hope to send him something someday.

I looked at one today and was extremely impressed, so much so that I bought it. The fit of the grip frame to receiver is the best I have ever seen on a factory Ruger, the ejector rod housing fit perfectly to the frame and there is no stupid warning label anywhere on the barrel. The only thing wrong is the stainless hammer. Honestly, I can't believe Ruger would put a stainless hammer on this beautiful gun!!! Fortunately I have a blued Bisley hammer that I will have case hardened and installed on the gun. When I got home I was cleaning it realized it's serial #100, kind of cool. i.imgur.com/qMcBoBM.jpg?1Ditto on that experience. But, believe you'll find the warning hidden on the bottom of the barrel. Congratulations on a great purchase.

Does yours have the warning label on the barrel? I took the ejector rod housing off the gun to add a Colt style ejector rod and there is no warning label anywhere on the barrel. Maybe mine snuck out the door in error. I had high hopes Ruger was finally let off the hook about putting that non-sense on their guns.

Here's a couple of shots of the underside of the barrel.

Thank you for the kind words! Kind of a dumb question, I bought this gun to shoot but does it have any collector appeal because of serial #100 and the fact it went out the door without the warning on the barrel? If not I'm going to wear it out or at least try

In my humble opinion that’s one of the nicest and most useful revolvers I’ve seen in a long time. 5.5” barrel, 45 colt, six shot. Can’t get much better than that

I just got one of these and while looking for information about a blued or case hardened hammer I stumbled across this forum....read a bit and had to join. I ordered a blued hammer and trigger kit from Power Custom today. Also talked to Turnbull who are willing to do a case hardened finish if sent a hammer. The person I spoke to kinda indicated they would have liked to have done hammers that way to start with but Ruger only has SS hammers now. I asked him about the finish on the frame and was told it's some kind of clear lacquer and needs some care when cleaning....some petroleum based stuff could actually strip it off. Mine is number 150 and it has the barrel markings mostly covered by the ejector housing. Looks like lots of knowledge available on this site. Dave
