It seems that this is going to work out. If you want a gas check (an option I included), you will have to use the Gator pistol check for the .500 caliber though. The seating depth on the .500 WE is an unknown so someone will have to say if it will work. Give me some more time to work some items out and I'll post it.

My JRH Ruger BH cylinder is 1.830" with recessed case heads...that leaves about .440 nose with my cases that are right at 1.390" in length.

That looks great! I like the versatility of the 3 crimp grooves for different guns. Could a deeper hp pin be added down to the upper crimp groove, would cut down on weight but expansion would be increased. Either way I would be in for a plain base mold.

I would be in for a mold as well with an HP as stated above (to the upper crimp grove) that would make a great cast HP bullet.

You're the guy that wanted a 420 HP.......... I can make two deeper ones also... and will. This is a preliminary to see what interest is there. .50 caliber shooters need to see this and comment as to fit and wants so I can get it right for the majority. When everyone is satisfied, then I'll give Fermin the go ahead. Get the word out!

I am planning to have JRH build me a 500 JRH after first of the year as well. I think it will work in all except the GI's and the JRH since it isn't built yet but will bet it will. I can't wait to jump in on GB.

Give me a measurement with the case in place please.....from the case head to the front of the cylinder. The specs on the various .50 caliber cases vary somewhat on the sources on the net..... makes fitting things rather ornery.

Middle crimp groove fits fine with a 0.015" clearance from meplat to end of cylinder. Thanks!

The 420gr hp was just a starting number, extra pins would be great and add to the versatility like the 3 crimp grooves do, thanks.

I posted on the castboolits forum about the 50 cal hp design being worked on here, hopefully there will be more interest to start a group buy.
