Yep, nice gun. It's an older Clements based on the markings. CCH as well though it's not so easy to tell in that lighting.
Great gun as-is, or swap that aluminum grip frame for a steel one and get in line for one of Clements' Bisley hammers to really round out the package. Cost effective way to go if the gun sells for what these usually bring.

A classic example of the Skeeter inspired early 44 Special conversion gun. I trust one of the guys here will end up with it. I know it is great that Ruger has brought out modern versions of guns like this but there is still something about one of these old model 357 to 44 Special conversions that tickle a different key in my heart.

I'm just causing trouble here as I'm trying to stay out of the kitchen!
The bird goes on the Weber about 1:00

Well all I can tell you guys is that it is a good thing Gunbroker has my account screwed up or I would jump back in on this thing since I don't recognize the top couple of bidders.

Closed at $1,325. Is that a fair deal or top of the market?

Fair deal. Aluminum grip frame with eh finish, factory cylinder trigger and hammer, no black powder chamfer, muted CCH, soldered front sight don't help. Pros are new barrel, nicely fitted stags, and a desirable base gun (early flat top).
I'd certainly be happy to own that, but then I'd be tempted to make a few tweaks to my taste and all of a sudden I'd be $1800 in and that opens up a whole other market of factory and custom guns.

PJ nailed it on the head! Admit it, we are ALL afflicted with customitis and there is no known cure!

Newest caretaker of this sixgun here. This will be my 2nd second-hand custom, which seems to be the most economical way to gain some experience with higher-end guns before signing on for my first full build. Looking at pictures of all these exquisite guns is enjoyable but there's no substitute for holding and shooting to see how you get along. (Love the look of my K-38 Target Masterpiece but can't get it to settle into my hand yet...) I have high hopes for this one despite the imperfect cosmetics.
One more gun that failed to escape the gravitational influence of this forum...
