Dang! How can it be? I have sneered, snickered, and looked down my nose at the idea. Holding a Windham 300BO pistol, a Tac Sol 22 LR pistol, and just ordered the parts to complete a 226/556 pistol. Why? Thinking my head has softened... Too much brocolli..

Broccoli might be it.
I haven't done it yet, but a BO might fall from the sky near my gun safe eventually. Don't know why though as I don't need one.

I found myself with enough 'extra' parts to build one on an 80% lower that I had completed about 18-24 months ago, so I cut a used barrel down to 10.3" and did it. I put a Levang Linear Compensator on it to direct the blast forwards, and it's really not unpleasant to shoot. I put one of the Sig braces on the buffer tube; not sure if I'll keep it on there or not. I did open the gas port up just a tad - the next larger size numbered drill bit, and it functioned flawlessly the little bit that I shot it. Pretty much totally useless as a true pistol, IMHO, but an interesting range toy.

I turned my AR pistol into a SBR. However, now that it's ok to "sometimes" shoulder a pistol brace, I think an AR pistol makes more sense.

I consider mine a poor man's SBR without the hoops or paperwork if I take it on the raod. I've got one each in 9mm, 5.56, and 6.8 with a BO on the back burner. If I like the way the BO turns out, the 6.8 might get turned into a .22.
