I've Googled and searched everywhere for a Dis-assembly guide, any one have one they can post or e-mail? A schematic would be nice also, I downloaded the owner manual from FA, the schematic ends up on two pages split down the center and on the small side.
I hope to get some custom grips soon and would like to be able to remove the grip frame, with confidence.

can be very simple. remove existing grips. remove the 5 screws holding grip frame to the cylinder frame. pay close attention to which screw goes where so that you can return them to proper location. make mental note that when you reassemble later the two wire springs for cylinder bolt and trigger return must re-engage the corresponding slots milled into grip frame in front of trigger slot. also reccommend when reinstalling to just gently snug screws down until have all in place leaving them loose enough that you can gently bump grip frame with rubber/plastic/leather/lead hammer. sometimes they can be a minor pain to correctly realign the mating seam flush like it was from factory.

your welcome @ salvo. have had to yank a handfull of them apart and it ain't bad at all. purchased a few that were used and the trigger pull wasn't light enough to suit me plus a recent Field Grade that was to cheap to pass on.my trouble is that not only to i have a weak spot for the guns but i just can't seem to pass up on any used ones that pop up in my area! was digging in the safe a few days back and noticed that currently have 5 in .454Casull with 7-1/2" barrels,granted though they are not identical. LOL'doubt will ever have as many as i want though

There are also at least 2 types of mainspring attachment. The older one holds the mainspring with a nut, making assembly & disassembly perhaps a bit easier. The newer version holds the mainspring in a slot. DISassembly is easy, as shorty 500 says. Follow his advice, work at a table with a towel and carefully note the wire spring positions. REassembly can be annoying at first. On my first try at it, I must have put one together 4 times before I got everything to work properly...the proper positioning of the slotted mainspring under the hammer was the stumbling block.

Take pic's before and during disasembly. I almost allwase do and it has saved my butt a few times.

Pictures tend to help with any disassembly project. I can remember the first time I took a 1911 down to the pins, didn't take any pictures, and wound up habing to pay the local guy 60 to put it back together. A shop manual helps a lot too.

Pictures are always good! I love taking guns apart and putting them back together, it is nice to have instructions though. I guess the FA is close enough to a Blackhawk to get it done. The last rifle I took apart without instructions was my Browning 1886, talk about a nightmare! I documented with pictures and notes as I went. So if anyone feels like busting down an 1886 I can send you the instructions You would think someone would have put together instructions on the FA, sounds like a project to me!

LOL,YOU GUYS SHOULD TRY ASSEMBLING A SEMI-AUTO BROWNING 1919 REPRO OF THE ORIGINAL FULL-AUTO GUN WITH NO INSTRUCTIONS, A PARTS KITS, AN ANXIOUS OWNER OF ALL SAID PARTS AND A 80% COMPLETE RIGHT HAND SIDE PLATE, WHICH IS THE PART THATS ACTUALLY CONSIDERED TO BE A "FIREARM" BY THE BATF&E! LOL, NOW THATS FUN!!!!

I use the camera in my phone for all kinds of this stuff. Just lately to copy a add in a paper, license plates on my truck, putting breaks on a 4 wheeler, a cap and ball revolver, a map, a road sign, load data, targets (results from load data), family tombstone, price shopping from store to store. I don't think I would make it with out it these days.
