I have two OM SBH that came without original grip frames. One I acquired had no grip frame on it (Snyd got the frame and grips) and I traded for an original Ruger brass SBH frame for that gun. The second OM SBH had on it, one of the very rare Bisley brass frames. I’m thinking of sending the pair to one of our esteemed craftsmen for action work, fitting the frames, making grips and shortening the barrels. I plan on leaving one a 44 and making the other a 45 with a new 5 1/2” barrel.
What do you guys think?

Short 45, 5 shot brass Bisley. Maybe not as short as I normally like, to help balance the brass I sometimes wish I'd kept the one brass Bisley frame that passed thru here. Tim

Maybe I forgot to give you my address Brass Bisley 5 shot 45 would have to be a Linebaugh gun if a guy was willing to come up with the coin. Probably with a signature Linebaugh barrel banded barrel just because. my .02

Snyd you got the gift. That was a beautiful set of horn grips on that grip frame.

Would be a great pair to have finished, better get them packaged up and sent. The 5.5" brass bisely .45 sounds just about right with a full lenght ERH, will the .44 be 4 5/8".

DO these gun shoot good Now? Or do you think leave the scalpel alone and go with completely new tubes? What is your thought for now? I do like the new barrel Jack Huntington installed on my 45. It is polished inside, and NO billboard on the outside.

Both are 7 1/2” now. I haven’t shot either. It costs only a little more to go with a new barrel as opposed to a cut and sight reset. Neither are original guns as both have had the original grip frames taken or traded out. I have some long barrel guns so I’m leaning toward 5 1/2” for the pair. I don’t like the billboards other than what the smith writes on the barrel.
