I took delivery of a decent rebuild of a K38 Masterpiece that will shoot better than 2" groups at 25 yards and I'd like to get into club-level Distinguished Revolver competition as a Grand Senior (over 70). There are LOTS of books and helpful manuals on shooting the semi-automatic pistol, but that's the wrong gun for this game. I've been looking for reference materials to develop sound one-hand precision shooting fundamentals with a revolver, but other than a few chapters in the 1930 Fitzgerald book, Google is coming up short! I have the NRA rule book, but that doesn't help with building shooting skills. I know there are members here with National level skills who might be able to point me to revolver training materials that will be helpful. I've done a search here and found reloading info and discussions about appropriate guns, and that's helped some, but its not the really basic stuff like I need. I also have a parallel request over at the Bullseye forum. I would appreciate any study suggestions this group can offer. Thank you.

Thumbing that hammer back for 5 shots in 10 seconds at 25 yards is a sure enough trick. I've seen a few revolver shooters at the matches through the years but the introduction of the alibi rule allowed semi autos to run them off long before I started competing in '78. When the DR program came to be it revived interest in pocket pool shooting of revolvers. Custom grips and off set hammers were common back in the day but they aren't allowed in DR. My decision was to shoot the 25 yard line double action. Life got busy and I haven't done much. There are old out print books whose names excape me right now. Maybe later...
