I picked up this pre-owned NIB Glock 30SF on Tuesday and swapped out the sights that night with an old set of Heinie's I had in my parts box. Finally got a chance to try it out today during my lunch break "at the office". Put a mix of 20 different random cartridges I had in a ziploc bag in my range box (HST, SXT, Black Talon, Silvertip, Hydra-Shok, OLD Win JHP, a couple unk JHP's and a few different makes and styles of FMJ's) through it to see if there would be any hiccups and was pleasantly surprised by the results, considering they were all different loads... I couldn't believe I nailed the centering on the rear sight on my first try (I'll confirm at 100yds later ), but it looks promising. It was only 20rnds at 10yds, but ZERO hiccups and fantastic consistency for such a variety of bullet weights and powder charges. I think this one is a KEEPER!

Nothing wrong with that. As they used to say, "Don't touch that dial". That one is dialed in.

I had a Glock 30 Gen 3 that I sold to my bro. GREAT gun. Now, I have a Glock 30S Gen 3. Also a GREAT gun! The Glock 30 is just awesome. And by the looks of your shooting, yours is every bit as amazing as the ones I've laid my hands on. Congratulations on getting such an accurate piece! I wish you many happy trips to the range with it!

I have always said the 45 is probably most accurate Glock made and of those the G30 series is the most accurate of those. I have been amazed with the accuracy of the G30s over the years. You'll love that one I'm sure! Nice shooting!

Thanks Guys, I have a G21SF RTF2 that shoots right along with my SA Operator and had heard that the 30's were supposed to be surgical too, but this impressed me. Had I really taken my time and shot a single load, I think that group would have been 1/2 the size. I'll have to test that theory soon, just need to find the time. Yes Sir Dick, I'm about sick to death of N.Cal fires. We've been lucky in that we haven't had to evac (yet), but we did have friends stay with us when they had to evac and I've responded to most of them in one capacity or another. If I had wanted to play with smoke and flames, I'd have picked the other career path to operate those big red trucks. It's one thing to see the damage on the news (and they always show the worst), but to be there and interact with the folks who lost everything (not to mention irreplaceable or sentimental items and family heirlooms) is tough. Fire is indiscriminate and unforgiving, just foundations covered in ash. I do have an observation that may be helpful to others here on the forum... I have yet to see a safe that was able to withstand the heat from a wildland/structure fire. They either melt completely, bulge out like a grenade went off inside them or look like they've imploded. I'd have taken pictures of the one's I've seen, but didn't out of respect for the families who had lost so much. The only way I think a standing safe MIGHT have a fighting chance, would be if it was placed against an exterior garage wall just inside the door. That would be the coolest place I'd imagine (I may be wrong), but it's not the ideal place to put a safe for theft deterrence. Needless the say, I was happy to get back to my office... I even got a chance to drive to the top of Hull Mountain and see the first snow of the season... Thanks Again Guys and Stay Safe, Stump

Thanks for your help to those folks in Northern Cal. Your comments considering "safes" causes me to pause and ponder. I'm in the process of upgrading, mostly for my wife's jewelry and this is a fortunate add to the conversation. Back to the cave for more research.

Dropped off the G30SF frame and the carry magazine to Mr. Gene Shuey yesterday at the Big Reno Show. He's going to radius the transition area under the trigger guard, remove the finger grooves, blend the frame with the magazine extension and apply his excellent stippling work to both the frame and mag extension (one of the most finely detailed and effective stippling patterns I've handled to date). This will allow me to fit all my lincoln log fingers onto the grip with comfort and deter me from throwing another "modified" handall on it. He gave me a two week estimated delivery date, which means it will be here in time for our quarterly quals later this month and I can add it to my off duty carry rotation.
I'll post pics when it's finished.

You'll love that one I'm sure! Nice shooting! I think Glenn and I agreed on this once before on the forum. The Glock 45s got some really good mojo. I was so impressed with mine, I left my custom 1911s at home and shot SOF one year with my full size Glock 45.

I would agree with you on that 100%...... Ive had several variants of 45 Glocks over the years and they were all shooters 😉
