my neighbor at work... the local Budweiser distributor has sold out, & been putting "junk" accumulated over all the years, out on the curb to give away... I saw some hoses & couplers sitting in a pile there for a couple days... finally I remembered that I had some old 5 gallon stainless pop / soda tanks from back from when I had my restaurant ( long long ago ) & I had tried using one of the tanks at one time for a pressurized water tank, but I didn't have any hoses that would fit on the tank... this was my thinking, when I saw them laying over there across the street ( there are 2 -3 kinds in the bunch, so I may have found the correct ones for my tanks ) turns out the hoses are bar soda "guns" for filling drinks... they only have 5 buttons, the newer ones have about twice that... but what really caught my eye ( & muscles ) was a pair of 12-15 lb blocks of aluminum, that are lined with ( I assume ) 5 stainless loops, since there are stainless fittings on the block...I think for chilling the pop/ soda before it goes in the glass... I was hoping they were stainless, & thought about scrapping them, but in essence, they are small heavy 5 line heat exchangers... I'm assuming there are 5 stainless coils inside, that the aluminum was poured around... since they are "mixed" I'm guessing scrap price is low... but as an exchanger, they are pretty cool ( sorry about the pun ) I think if high temp plastic, or copper lines were put on them, they could be used for heating, as well as cooling, as long as the heat source was cooler than the melting point of aluminum...
now I just need to figure out a good use for them...
thoughts???

here is a picture of one... I see the size is molded into the top... they have 1/2" tall molded in feet on the bottom, & I assume they sat on the walk in cooler floor
