I've been watching the various models come through my local place and I'm getting the itch to pick one up. How durable is the anodizing? Is it sensitive to solvents? I'd hate to bring one home and then jack up the finish first rattle out of the box...

I have one, and the finish is very durable.

Thanks contender. I figured the finish was good to go but I can't make that assumption anymore.

Mine looks to be anodized, which is pretty tough. Never a problem with solvent. I just use Hoppe's No. 9.

Nothing can make fish taste good. Salmon fillets taste good, tuna (steak or sushi but never from a can) tastes good, grilled shrimp tastes good. Now I have to make a choice which to put on layawake first. A 22/45 Lite or the Para GI LTC I found yesterday...

1 cup oil 1 cup soy sauce 24 oz. 7-up, Sprite or any citrus soda/pop 1 T powdered onion 1 T powdered garlic Optional - horseradish
Marinade the filets overnight. Grill lightly, checking often. Don't overcook. Even kids who hate fish will eat this up. I use salmon, or steelhead.
This recipe works wonders with chicken or turkey tenders. Again, don't overcook. Things cook through faster than you think with meat that's been marinated.

my grandson loves it....light weight means he is happy.
no finish issues here. ours is from 2012. gold in color.
it's very much more accurate in my feeble hands with a volquartsen trigger/sear kit.
it gets shot more than the mk1s & mk2 if only because of the weight.
grand-bob likes shootng it too.
we have probably run less than 1k rounds thru it since new.
it is currently on it's way back to ruger. the barrel (actually a steel liner) cracked all around about 1.5" from the muzzle.
