Color me stubborn, pig headed, downright ignorant. I bought a Star sizer luber several months ago and since it was raining today and I was in a quandry what to do, I got out the Star and set it up. Why didn't I get one of these 25 years ago. It sizes and lubes so much easier than my old Lyman. I limped along all these years in the stone age with my old Lyman 45. As soon as I get all the Star dies I need there will be a bunch of Lyman dies and an old 45 lubrisizer for sale.

You really want to speed things up get a air lube pressure kit. Just feed and work the handle very little to do with the lube after you get it setup!

If you don't already know, there's a fellow on the Cast Boolit site that custom makes dies for Star sizers for about $45 shipped.

The guy goes by Lathesmith and he is in the vendor section on Cast Bullet forum. I just bought a roller handle for my Star form him as well as all my dies. The air feed on the lube part is next.

Only thing is, the dies are hard. Might be easier/cheaper to buy new ones....

I think I've hear others say 1/100 can be removed pretty easily. Chuck in a lathe or use a drill bit. . Maybe 80 grit sandpaper then increase to a polishing grit I visited Magma last week and they, as always, were helpful and accommodating. He--Eric-- opened up a 400 to 401, and marked it for me . No dig on Lathesmith here. Ive ordered from him too. He does a great job. It's just to visit Magma, and they're all a hard working bunch I like to support I sent Lathesmith a message. Will be waiting to hear how it goes. Lathesmith answered promptly and courteously and said he could open a die up to .003" for 13 US and 4 additional for shipping. He said he could not remark them however due to thier hardness.

I have been doing business with Magma since they took over the Star sizer. There was a lady there, Mary, who I kept on speed dial! LOL!!
I have something like 25-30 dies. I'm going to go through them all and see if i can organize them better. I have discovered they fit nicely in a small prescription pill bottle. It would be easy to write the size on the cap. Better for older eyes...now how to organize the pill bottles..
