Have been thinking of adding a 10MM 1911 to the stable and I see Ruger is making the SR1911 in that flavor.
Anyone here have one, tried one or hear anything about them (good or bad)??
Any input is appreciated. Thanks BigBore44

We have one in house that I hear has feeding issues... I don't work that end of the shop so I don't have details. The first one through the shop I handled and was not pleased with the barrel fitting. Not that it was bad just not what I'd want in a 10mm 1911. Later ones I've held have been fitted better. There are some premium 10mm 1911s out there. You'll pay more but with the performance capability of the 10mm I'd want all the gun I could get. I've got a threaded Alpha Wolf barrel for a Glock G40 in the parts box.

When my Ruger NMSBH in .454 crapped out due to cylinder issues, this 10mm SR1911 is what Ruger sent me in exchange. Have shot it about 300-400 times in a month and all I can say is WOW! Gun was beautifully finished, has not had a single hiccup feeding, and the sights went where I told them to sighting it in. My son shoots it so well I may give it to him and buy me another for a matching pair. Have shot xtp in 155 and 180 grain, and am now shooting 175 grain cast with sage outdoors gas checks. I did get some barrel leading before gas checking the bullets. Am totally pleased so far!

Does the Ruger come with a ramped barrel, or is it a standard barrel as the Colts in 45 acp and 10mm?

Hi... My son has one. Likes it a lot...refers to it's his semi-auto .41Magnum. He prefers it to his Glock 10mm. Quite a few rounds through it with no issues. I have shot it about 50 rounds or so... I like it. If I ever buy another 1911 that isn't a .45ACP, it will probably be a 10mm.
