A few have trickled through. At least one was picked up by our lot.

I got one and its terrific. Well made and very accurate.
Stuck on some new grips with no other modifications to it. Almost unheard of for me.

Well I'd Really like to get my hands on one if anyone Knows/Hears/See's one. I also have a Blued 5.5" FT 44spl nib, not fired since leaving Ruger factory I'd be willing to work in the deal if that helps/interests anyone.
Thanks BigBore44

I was referring to the 44 Special FT 5.5". Have it in blue and stainless. They have little competition.

I haven't seen and blued versions of this gun, but I've handled the stainless gun. Very, very nice! I'd have one but on my budget that's a lot of money.

Take a look the the .com Ruger forum. Good fellow, I've bought from him before.

Does anyone have any concerns about the forcing cone? It seems pretty thin on the one that I looked at. I know you shouldn't hot rod them into 44 mag territory but I would at least like to get around that 1000FPS mark. The skeeter load at around 950 fps would do 99% of the time. I am just wondering if they were built for the modern 44 special, or the old 44 special, at around 750 fps? Even the flattops have a much thicker forcing cone, so you can't compare the two as equal.

At first it looked as though you could load these just like a 44 Special on the Ruger SA medium framed guns, but then I read a bit posted by a fellow here from Brian Pearce ? saying that the gun shouldn't be loaded quite that high. I'm sure the Skeeter load would be fine.
Mine is loaded on the nightstand with a top tier lead hollowpoint, but that's only for emergencies. Regular practice and plinking loads are fairly light, i.e., a 240 grain slug over 6.0 grains of W231.
