I am in the process of shooting a 454 SRH. The trigger pull is somewhat heavy. Also the hammer pull is quite heavy.
I ordered the Wolf spring pack with various springs. Does anyone have experience with using these springs in a SRH?
How did it improve things for you, if it did?

I installed on my SRH in 44, the 10 lb. trigger and only went down to the 12 lb. hammer (didn't want light strikes). found on the web on how and where to give some attention for a trigger job.broke out the dremmel and the polishing compound and went to work. also installed trigger and hammer shims to keep everything centered to prevent drag. my trigger has improved a lot for a little bit of money and some time...

On my other wise stock Super Redhawk, I installed the 10lb trigger return spring (stock is 15 lbs), and left the factory hammer spring installed. The trigger now averages 3 lb 3oz on my Lyman Digital scale. I believe the single action pull was right around 5 lbs with the stock spring, and was also pretty decent and creep free.
To tell you the truth, I fully intend to put the 12 lb return spring in to bring it up a bit.
I also have a Super Blackhawk Hunter that has a trigger/action job by David Clements that also measures an average of 3 lbs 3 oz. It also uses a stock hammer spring and a lightened return spring.
I realize the mechanisms of the two guns are quite different. But while the pull weight on them is the same, the SBH Hunter fells more predictable and more crisp than the trigger on my untouched SRH.

I've play with GP100, SP101, & the SRH triggers quite a bit. It you're not doing any stoning of the action, try the 10 lb hammer spring, along with the 8 lb trigger spring and see how things work for you. I tend to stay away from the really light hammer springs that are available, even though the guns generally seem to fire reliably with them. My issue is that I seem to get hammer bounce a lot more with the light springs. A hint of hammer bounce doesn't bother me excessively, but I've seen some that I really felt were excessive. The trigger return spring must return the trigger to the forward position positively, and without hesitation. If it doesn't, break out the stones, or simply go to the heavier spring and see how you like it. It is possible to get a truly great DA trigger pull with any of these series of Ruger. I took an SP101 down to a cap pistol level trigger for a friend of mine, and it still fires rifle primers reliably, but doesn't experience primer flowback with Federal SPP. I got lucky that time.

I installed Wolff No.12 Latch Spring and a No.10 Hammer Spring. Then installed the Hogue Tamer grips. Trigger pull is right at 3 1/2 lbs. Much better. I appreciate the help.

I've setup SRH/GP actions from 6-10 lb DA. For a working gun true up and smooth the contact surfaces and install the heaviest springs in the kit. That will still light off CCI primers in both modes of fire even below freezing. I've tested them down to around 0 F. If you want the lightest trigger possible get some Federal primers and have at it with smoothing up the action. My competition GP runs 100% with a 6.5 lb DA trigger.
Edit: Forgot to mention, the cold weather tests I did were with a 454 using small rifle primers. If the heaviest mainspring in the kit will light those off I think it's a pretty safe bet it will light off everything on a properly spec'd revolver.

I had JRH do a trigger job on my SRH, and in single action its about 5 lbs, but super smooth. He said NOT to go with after market springs. Too many issues.

Interesting on the comment from jrh. I have well over 500 full tilt rounds shot out of me SRH after changing the springs and no problems yet. Not disagreeing I am sure jrh has forgot more than I know. But I will definitely keep watch now.
