I am having a hard time locating a manufacture of chest holsters who will build one for a scoped Ruger SRH. I am also left handed which complicates matters. 7x a no go, as is Diamond D. Any guidance would be appreciated.

Give Doc Barranti a call, he manages to do pretty well with cow hide. I just received a Northeast Hunter And its is fantastic - should be right up your ally for that SRH.

Contact Rob Leahy. He makes exactly what you're describing.

Or, buy a half hide, 10 oz Latigo and some tools, needles and thread and build one. You will have enough leather left over to make some knife sheaths and a hip holster or 2.

You must check out the Northwest Hunter rig by Mike Barranti, it's a work of art & very functional. I have 2 of them & they get used a lot, I've used one of them 3 times this last week hunting deer & antelope. Dick

I went with "Doc" Barranti's Northwest Hunter rig. Hope to receive delivery before mid November for a Idaho whitetail hunt. Does anyone use a chest strap with this setup? Just wondering if it is needed to keep a heavy pistol in place over rough terrain.

You will want the chest strap for sure. Sometimes I don't use mine if I'm just sitting but for the most part you will want it. You will love that chest rig!

Perfect. I like the fact that you can swap out multiple holsters to fit your hunting needs. I appreciate all the help.
