See North half of Idaho and upper west slope Montana the "hot" spot now. How are our brethren there doing ?

Thought you folks had a good snow heavy winter and maybe not a bad wildfire year ? What happened ?

More fuel from a heavy snow fall. Lots of existing fuel from sixty years of mismanagement by the forest fairies. Shoshone forest districts idea of management is closing another road. Yes I'm crabby, awake half the damn night from smoke allergies.

Dick, Paul105, how are you guys faring ? Anyone know how the Yaak area is ? Have neibhor here that rodeo'd with that Tom guy from the Mtn Man tv show when they were young. How about Mike Venturino ? My wifes oldest friend lived near him for some years but now back here in Ohio for a while now.

I was in Cody today and it was very hazy. Later up in Yellowstone a Young ranger showed us a map of current wild fires. Had to be 15 to 20 fires going. I'm praying for rain for you folks in those areas but Ranger Rick said they estimate that some of the fires will burn until October. I hope they are wrong.

Very Smokey from a BC Canada fire clear down south of Portland. About 1.5 hours South of Seattle was especially bad.
Bellevue, WA, was clearing up with blue skies and sun by 6pm.
