Some year or two ago I was reading diffrent posts and someone had posted a scanned copy of reloading data (3 or4 pages, and the front cover) of ,I think, a Hodgdon reloading manual with a data for quite a few powders for Ruger Only loads. I think the manual was number 56, or so, but I can't find it. Like a dummy I didn't print it, so except for a few that I reloaded and wrote out the data, I lost the rest. I love shooting the heavy loads, for example 280 g cast over 110/296 powder. Can anyone send me a scanned copy, or tell me how to get a copy? Thanks much in advance. Oh, this is for 45 Colt Ruger only loads. JeffB45

Nope. Sorry, thanks for your reply, but that's the newest reload data. What I'm looking for is older data, I'm sure it was Hodgdon Number 56 or so, that had "heavy" reloading data. The poster called it "the Holy Grail " of 45 Colt reloading data. Had a number of 270 + cast bullets data.

If you are looking for 280gr cast bullet loads this article from Brian Pearce will give you more info than any manual likely will. www.riflemagazine.com/magazine/P ... artial.pdf

I have an article by Brian Pierce in a Handliader magazine that has Ruger Redhawk Only loads. These loads go up to 50,000 psi. They are too hot for the Blackhawk or Super Blackhawk and most are a bit longer. Starting loads are as hot as max normal Ruger loads. Tomorrow I'll get it out. As p bucket don't work no mo for me. The best I can do is take pics and email or text them to someone. Glen.

THAT'S IT !!!! Thanks a bunch. Iwanted to try some diffrent powders. Now I'm using 11 gr Unique with 255 g cast from Montana Bullet Works, and 296 with 280 gr cast wfn bullets. They shoot like lasers in my 4.5 bbl Blackhawk. Thanks again. JeffB45

Beware of using old loading data. Some powders have been changed slightly over the years, this is especially true of Hercules/Alliant powders, also some IMR powders have been modified over the years.

That link does not work for me. Is that the article that had various pressure level loads for the 45-270SAA bullet? I keep a copy of that article at my bench.

Thanks! I have to say that I look forward to articles by Brian Pearce, even those about cartridges I don't load or cast for.
