Treed and freed works pretty well, no taxidermy fees, no back breaking pack out from a couple miles back, no hours of skinning and butchering. Someday I'll get a bear skin rug AND it will be over a pack of hounds. But for now I'm just loving the sound of the hounds and the time at the tree.

They have in the past. Pull the dogs back and the bear will come down out of the tree. The guys said they don't like to do that very often because the bear tends to be a runner second time around. It doesn't tree as quickly or as easily and it makes it much harder to pick the dogs up.
