My LGS got one of these incredible rifles in. Being an avid collector of Ruger #1s, I had to have it.
Its quite unique in being a classic single shot and assault style combined in one.
Clearly, assault rifle is a dubious name created by the left to label guns as evil. Also, unlikely many street gangs would choose the Ruger #1.
It may well be my most unique single shot to date.

Is it stocked in the finest black polymer with the option to use a collapsible stock? That would put it squarely in the "assault" category. Or at least the "visually assaulting" category...

It is stocked with black and gray laminated wood.
But, still a unique rifle. About the same power as the 444 Marlin with its 20" barrel.
Look forward to loading this one with some Hornady 300 grn XTP Mag bullets and seeing what it'll do.

If/when I decide to build a big bore AR it will be a .450 Bushmaster so I was sort of interested when I heard Ruger was putting out one of the bolt actions in the .450. A No. 1 in .450 may push me over the edge! If one was so inclined, I wonder just how much harder you can push it in the No. 1 vs the AR.

Well, the #1 easily holds even the most powerful belted magnums.
I'd think loading the 450 Bushmaster to 454 Casull pressure would be just fine.
Not necessarily recommending it, just sayin'.

I have an assault single shot... an Enfield Martini carbine in 30-30 with a bayonet lug there is someone on Gunbroker that has like a dozen of the Americans in 450 Bushmaster at a very reasonable price... thought about one of those... was the #1 at normal prices???

Yes, considering what normal prices are for #1s these days.
Buds did have them in stock.
