They shoot this PRS stuff down close to Jasper. Steel targets at 200-1200 yards. Looks like fun. Bought a gun. savagearms.com/firearms/model/10GRSDang! Now I need a brass, dies, and a scope... Slowly getting my old head to grasp the the FFP vs SFP idea. Holding a 8-32 SFP NF. I'm thinking a comparable FFP NF will help me understand. Only thing holding me back is a BIG chunk of money. But... It only money. WE CAN GET MORE!

FFP. Leave the SFP on the shelf Stan. Never worry about setting and what reticle reads etc. easy to make correction on impact visuals using reticle and dials etc. SFP scopes, you can have them The FFP ATACR is really nice. I have a 4-16 with H59 and it's awesome. I use Razor HD Gen2 on a bunch and it's wonderful as well, great glass. I can barely tell any difference with my eyes of those two scopes and my Schmidt and Bender PM2s. All will get the job done!

The Nightforce SHV 4-16 F1 would be a great choice at about $1k under comparable NXS and ATACR models.

The Nightforce SHV 4-16 F1 would be a great choice at about $1k under comparable NXS and ATACR models. That glass is not in same class as the ATACR to my eyes. Good price for a FFP but not comparable when it comes to glass quality in my opinion. There is a reason the big ones cost what they do which is why I'm impressed with the Razor and the ATACR, I truly believe the glass compares to the S&B that run 3-4K.

Why the hybrid over the VLD? I've had good results with 142 Sierras but have a new rifle in the works & hoping to use Bergers this time.
Agreed on the H4350. It works. Hard to find the last 3 years, but finally showing up lately.
Stan, get you some Lapua brass. A bunch of guys tried to get me on it several years back & I wouldn't listen, thinking that it couldn't be that much better. It is. Looks like it's gonna take about 350 pieces of Rem brass to use up the barrel on a 260 I have. A hundred pcs. of Lapua would have been plenty, & I wouldn't have had to sort near as much.

the Hybrid is more forgiving on seating than the VLD. I just prefer them. On average across three or four guns, they shoot tighter groups in each one all different calibers.

What are you building? On brass, I've always used Hornady brass in the 6.5 CM but figured I'd grab some Lapua and maybe even some of the new stuff from Starline to separate the rifles and brass from each other. It won't be too terribly long and I'll have a 6.5 CM in an XP100 center grip

Just got told that Vortex sells to Vets for 40% off. Just sign up for the program and provide a DD214 or ID card. Buy 2 scopes a year. That will push me over the edge.... I bought this 10 GRS Savage. I Plan to spin up same barrel changing skills savagearms.com/firearms/model/10GRS

It won't be too terribly long and I'll have a 6.5 CM in an XP100 center grip Building just a plain varmint weight on a 700 action. I lack one component & have a smith with a quick turn around. It's probably gonna be a flip of a coin for a 6.5 CM or another 260. Between the two of us, reamers are on hand for both & with choices of free bores. In the 6.5CM, Hornady brass was the only option for a few years as you well know. The Lapua stuff just hit the market a couple months ago. Didn't know Starline was making it, with primer pocket size choice no less, interesting. The price is hard to beat also, be interesting to see how it sorts, & holds up. With Lapua though, sorting is usually not needed, & good life expectancy is a proven fact. I will have fallen on hard times to buy anymore Remington rifle brass, last batch of new Winchester I used wasn't much better. Would have retuned it if I hadn't had a Prairie Dog appointment in 4 days. Looked at some Berger numbers this morning, looks like they've slipped in a few new bullets in 6.5. Thought I was up on things, hard to do with so many new products coming out. Haven't even got to try tipped Sierras, Hornady ELD's, or Accubond LR's, & now Berger has at least 3 new ones.

Made it a Razor HD Gen II 4.5-27x56... Cheap? No, but then I do work for a dealer so the pain wasn't that bad. After all it is only money. We can get more.
