Just installed the LPA Rear Sight on my girl and love how it fits. I can't believe that Ruger hasn't started upgrading to these yet. Hope they will. Just for fun- www.youtube.com/watch?v=k_wmt8gKzrE

Great rear sights.... Have them on two of my S&W`s..... the one`s offered for the Smith`s have the option of coming with two green fiber optic`s on either side of the sight notch.... Have that installed on my five inch M-29 along with a fiber optic front..... this allows incredibly fast sight alignment for my tired eyes when out hunting.... the photo shows my 44 (with brass bead front) after I shot boar..... the sights for the S&W are made for the recent handguns with the drilled and tapped top strap which allows two screws to hold the sight allowing them to eliminate the small elevation base plate to slides into the notch... these sights are not cheap but well worth the money when drawing down on a boar in the field........

Love the rail underneath the barrel as not all confrontations with things that have teeth and claws occur in daylight. Used to get bears in the sheep at night and we taped flashlights to the side of the barrel of a 94 Winchester. 2 cell Eveready flashlights were not the best light source but all we had.
30-30s actually killed the bears! Missing sheep, sheepdogs and hitting a moving angry bear was a trick.

Love the rail underneath the barrel as not all confrontations with things that have teeth and claws occur in daylight. I couldn't agree with you more. Two weeks ago, my son woke me up at 2:00 am because something was in the trash. When I rounded the corner of the house, I was 20' from the biggest black bear I ever saw. His back was almost level with the top of my car, and he couldn't care less that I was pointing my gun at him and yelling. The next day my wife made a plaster cast of his tracks, and the front paw measured 6" wide. Someone told me it's about 100 lbs per inch for a guesstimate. A 600 lb black bear? I can't say fore sure, but I know he was Huge.

You can find the RANGE REPORT here- singleactions.proboards.com/thread/20338/big-bore-goldiloks?page=1&scrollTo=247315With the Blackhawk, the LPA rear sight needed to be centered for windage, and bottomed out for elevation, then determined where to hold for each different ammo. Now to find out how the LPA sight does on the Super Redhawk. I think I'll start with it bottomed out and go from there. So far, I really like this sight.

I have LPA's as factory sights on a few guns and like them. But I have them added to two revolvers. My former "race gun" 625 and a 657. (same gun, different view of the sight) (you'll note the 657 not only has the same sights, but the same grips. Well I was in the process of building another match gun, gave up, then stuck the parts on the .41 when it came along. lol )

Very nice looking Smiths, James and cas, and the LPA's look good on them. I really like the fiber optic front sights.
