I ordered my M2008 with 10" in .357 Maximum and with additional 15" barrel in .308 Winchester. The system is for me more comfortable as the thompson contender. But I needed two more barrel, one in 7x49R GJW (Guido J. Wasser) and anotherone in .22LR FA plays with thougts to add the 7x49 GJW to his portfolio, and the .22LR is still a prototype, still after 12 years!? ... Well, I don't have the time to wait of Moses raised the earth. Another call to gunsmith Zindel, and a few months later I got the FA M2008 with .22LR 10" barrel
And here the FA M2008 with 7x49R GJW barrel 15" The design of the barrel is phenomenal, the barrel is vibration optimized and the design is important to hold the weight for the IHMSA weight rules. But for me the silhouette rules are not important, its more the precision for long range competition, with this lightweight barrel and its strong caliber.
How much for the barrels and was it difficult to ship to Germany?

How much for the barrels and was it difficult to ship to Germany? For norfok, it's not difficult at all - he's already there.

How much for the barrels and was it difficult to ship to Germany? I bought the FA-M2008 pistol from a german gun store here in germany.
The price for a ZPW-Barrel is different, which design the barrel will have, with sights or mounts and so on. There would be also a fee for export to the states, and higher postal costs during the pandemic situation.
The FA Factory builds barrel only if the gun is sent to the factory, for fitting or whatever. This export would be to complicate, expensive and time consuming. And first by first... All these calibers, FA doesn't have them in his portfolio!
Ask Mr. Zindel for details. Zindel Precision Weapons, Germany (http://zindel-praezisionswaffen.de) t.zindel@zindel-praezisionswaffen.de
PS: By the way, the caliber is correctly 7x49R GJW not 7x49 GJW.

A little update on my FA2008. The original slide looks not good to me, with this even milled screw...
So I went to my local gunsmith, Timo Zindel, and he solved this problem very quick. Milled from one piece!
I also got a new firing pin from ZPW, because the original was to short.

Interchangeable barrel for the Freedom Arms Model 2008 single shot pistol in the now obsolete caliber .30 Herrett. If you can't do anything with it now, see >here<The nice thing is that you don't hear "can't" or "isn't" from ZPW Custom (Germany). Instead, rather words like "let's see" or "we'll have to see..." The barrel design was to be an unprecedented octagon-barrel design in vibration-optimized, according to my specifications, and then I simply gave the master free rein.

So good to have a gunsmith that can do those extra barrels dealing with freedom arms is useless !

Absolutely love my 2008! Still feels like youโre shooting a revolver . Actually looking hard at procuring another. Just have to move a safe queen down the roadโฆ.
