2008 is a great single shot, have one with 7mm-08,and the a 223 barrel as well. Both barrels wear Burris 3-12. Trigger is crisp, though I'd prefer it at 2lbs. vs. 3lbs.

thats one of the things i hate about freedon arms, they refuse to give a 2lb trigger because of some stupid law suit they lost awhile back.pay all that money then pay some more for a trigger job somewhere else.freedom arms dont kill any faster or deader than a good bfr or ruger, dead is dead, but stupid me has a few of them.

I just bought on in 7 BR. Trying to find a schematic for them is next to impossible. Gave it to a shooting friend of mine who is a FA revolver expert to try to lighten the trigger and he emailed me that he hasn't been able to get the grip frame off yet (only one day ago) so he is calling FA to see if they will give him some info. I doubt they will help but he is one of their better customers. Gun shoots great. Extremely accurate.

I like the FA Model 2008. Great shooting single shot. Unfortunately I have too many so one is for sale with three barrels if you know anyone interested. Ed, I like the .223 as well.

I ordered my M2008 with 10" in .357 Maximum and with additional 15" barrel in .308 Winchester. The system is for me more comfortable as the thompson contender. But I needed two more barrel, one in 7x49R GJW (Guido J. Wasser) and anotherone in .22LR FA plays with thougts to add the 7x49 GJW to his portfolio, and the .22LR is still a prototype, still after 12 years!? ... Well, I don't have the time to wait of Moses raised the earth. Another call to gunsmith Zindel, and a few months later I got the FA M2008 with .22LR 10" barrel
And here the FA M2008 with 7x49R GJW barrel 15" The design of the barrel is phenomenal, the barrel is vibration optimized and the design is important to hold the weight for the IHMSA weight rules. But for me the silhouette rules are not important, its more the precision for long range competition, with this lightweight barrel and its strong caliber.

Back before these excellent single shots were on the market Bob Baker was over visiting & shooting some Rock Chucks with one of them, I believe in 6.5 JDJ, can't remember. Anyway we were riding the 4 wheelers along a lava reef where you could shoot as far as you wanted. Bob is a very fine shot & he can get his shots off fast if needed. He had shot some Chucks earlier but they were close & he wanted to shoot one at distance to test the new single shot. I finally spotted one at something just over 600 yds that would give him a good shot as it was exposed on a large lava boulder. Setting up on our sandbagged 4 wheeler table with me spotting Bob lit the switch on his new prototype single shot & nailed that Chuck! The only problem was, he knocked it off the lava boulder down into a large crevice where we couldn't retrieve it for photo's, bummer! I think the shot was 607 yds, fine shooting! The next year at Raton me & I think buddy Ken O'Neill burned up a lot of Bob's ammo shooting a couple of those 2008's!! Ken is a fine shooter for being from North Carolina........

To wit: "Zindel Precision Weapons, Germany (http://zindel-praezisionswaffen.de)" And I agree, those are beautiful, purposeful barrels. I'm quite envious.
